Electric scooter sound design for Dutch TV show Bright op Banden.
For the Dutch tech show “Bright op Banden” (Bright on Wheels), I explored how an electric scooter might sound if it had a sound generator similar to AVAS systems that are mandatory for electric vehicles. I created a custom synthesizer that was able to produce a variety of electric driving sounds for such mopeds. The sounds ranged from more conventional characters to sci-fi and musical sounds.
Bright then asked people on the streets what they thought of the sounds.
What is shown only scratches the surface of the full process of creating an actual good product sound meeting all requirements, but it was great fun to do.
